Setting Up XRYPTON: Your Discord Bot Quick Start Guide

Add XRYPTON to your Discord server, set your prefix, verify permissions, and run your first commands in just a few minutes with this step-by-step guide.

Getting XRYPTON up and running in your server takes less than five minutes. You invite the bot, confirm it has the permissions it needs, set a custom prefix if you want one, and then start exploring the features that matter most to you. This guide walks you through every step from a fresh invite to your first commands.

Add XRYPTON to Your Server

You can invite XRYPTON in two ways:

• Via the website: Go to xrypton.vercel.app and click the invite button.
• Via Discord: Run the /invite command in any server where XRYPTON is already present to get a direct invite link.

Both methods open Discord’s standard bot authorisation flow where you choose the destination server and approve permissions.

First-Time Setup

1. Invite XRYPTON to your server

   Open xrypton.vercel.app or use the /invite command and select your server from the dropdown in the Discord authorisation screen. Click Authorise to complete the invite.

   Invite XRYPTON with the Administrator permission when prompted. This ensures every feature works correctly without you having to manually grant individual permissions later. You can always restrict it further once you are comfortable.

2. Check that XRYPTON is online

   Head to your server. You should see XRYPTON appear in your member list. If it shows as offline, check that you did not accidentally deny any critical permissions during the invite flow.

   Run a quick test to confirm the bot is responding:

   /ping
   

   or with the default prefix:

   ,ping
   

   XRYPTON should reply with its current latency.

3. Set your server prefix (optional)

   The default prefix is , (comma). If you want something different, set a custom prefix right away so your members learn the right one from day one.

   /prefix add <prefix>
   

   For example, to switch to ! as your prefix:

   /prefix add !
   

   To go back to the default , at any time:

   /prefix remove
   

   Slash commands (starting with /) always work regardless of which prefix you set. The custom prefix only affects text-based prefix commands.

4. Verify bot permissions

   Make sure XRYPTON’s role sits above any roles it needs to manage in your role hierarchy. In your server settings, go to Roles, find the XRYPTON role, and drag it above the roles your moderators and members use.

   Then confirm XRYPTON has permission to read and send messages in your main channels. Without this, command responses will silently fail.

5. Enable security modules

   If protecting your server is a priority, set up AntiNuke and AntiRaid early. Run the setup commands to activate them with sensible defaults:

   /antinuke setup
   /antiraid setup
   

   You can fine-tune thresholds and responses after the initial setup.

6. Explore features

   Browse every available command on the website or right inside Discord using the help command:

   /help
   

   or

   ,help
   

   The help menu organises commands by module so you can jump straight to the category you need.

Using Commands

XRYPTON supports both slash commands and prefix commands. Use whichever feels natural — they access the exact same features.

Slash Commands

Type / in any channel where XRYPTON has access and Discord will show you an autocomplete menu of available commands with descriptions and argument hints.

Slash commands are the easiest option for new users because Discord guides you through each argument interactively.

Prefix Commands

Type your server’s prefix (default ,) directly followed by a command name. Arguments come after the command, separated by spaces.

Prefix commands are faster to type once you know the command names and work well for experienced users and server staff.

If you forget your current prefix, slash commands always work. Run /prefix to see what the server prefix is currently set to.
